Chariots of Fire

Im going to be honest I did not enjoy this film probably cause it wasn't my type of film. I feel the acting was actually delivered very well. The actors were well portrayed and stared because they had the athletic features of playing the role of the athletes. The actor fits the part because I could see them as the athletes that they. The way the actors gave very good facial expressions to give their emotions. some of the actions such as body language are portrayed to give exactly what the actor intends to mean. I think it works cause they act like gentleman. I believe the  acting is so well that it is not noticeable that they are trying.
The editing of the time is very well. Until this question i didn't not notice the editing. That mean they did a great job. During the training of the runner it makes it look like they are working for a long time but it was shot in a short amount of time.
the camera was well taken with the action shots. they did not break the 180 degree rule which it rough because the actors are running in a  circle track.
For the music I feel it did not fit well. when the intro music started I thought it was a joke. I kinda laughed cause I thought it wasn't being serious. I feel it didn't fit in the time frame that it was filmed in. so to sum that up i think it was very distracting.
Why this got an Oscar I think is because they portray the lifestyle of the past very well. It make me think i was there.

Rocky

Rocky is a very classic film that is been popular for a long time. While watching this again I really didn't understand how important the sound was until I paid attention to it. One example of the use of diegetic sound when he is training. When Rocky is alone while working out you can tell because of the sound that he is very concentrated focused, because all you hear is his heavy breathing and the sound him punching a punching bag. Another example for a non-diegetic sound is like having a conversation with somebody who is in the other room. You cannot see them but you can hear them clearly. Another example I've never thought of is talking on the phone. You can hear what they're saying but sometimes you are not able to see the caller.

Offscreen sound in the film Rocky, I think it great example would be the audience during the fight. Without that sound it doesn't take you too where the director wants you to go which is the fight. I believe it completes the feeling that someone is there. 

What I took away from the meaning, was you have to work hard for something that you want. Nothing is going to be given to you easy and anything you want life you have to work hard for it. 

However, I am pretty stumped on why this film was so embraced when it was released. I believe it had a good storyline to it. Also because the story was not that Long ago in the past. It was a story that had hope.

Some of the save the cat moments when we find out that the crotchety old boxing coach was he able to get one last chance of glory, another example as we find out the gangster boss is a very nice guy, and a finish it off, Rocky loses his fight and you feel closer to him because he is at a weak Time. 

Waking Ned Devine

I really enjoyed this movie because it had a unique twist of morals. You reminds me of the Italian job, because they steal from a man who does not deserve the money but the reality of things they are all thieves but you still root for the main characters. In this film you hope the village is able to fool the lottery. That is a major scam but in this film you are cheering for the village.
I noticed in this film he editing was used to look at many views relatively quickly. When something happened you were able to get an understanding of what was happening all around you in just a couple seconds. Another example, that time when the lady was going to report the scam you were able to see three perspectives very quickly. One was the party that was going on in the village, the other was a lady breaking down and walking to the phone booth, and the last part you were able to see what the inspectors actions were. The way it was edited you can see everything as a timeline instead of going back and replaying each individuals timeline.
Inciting incident when Ned was discovered to be the winner of the big lottery. I believe the midpoint was the time the village agreed on a plot to split the money after the dream he had. And as for the climax, it was the inspector who made a van crashes the phone booth to kill the lady who is going to turn them all in.
I was very intrigued about the music because during a very crucial part of the climax the same music was used in every situation and that music fit perfect every scene.
I've talked a lot about the climax already, for one thing that I thought it made it so simple was the fact that it left no questions. It was able to show why inspector lost control of his car and it also left no questions on what lady was doing. Even when there was no talking in the scene you knew the intentions of every character. I believe this is a great film, I again love the part how we are voting against the lottery and hoping to scam fall through.

The Godfather

I have never seen this movie but I have always heard that it is good. I have to agree this is one of best movies I've seen. The way that they use the lighting in this film gives it a very dark ambiance. The colors are very dark and most of the time there is very little or no sun coming into the rooms. At times it is so dark that the shadows take up half of the screen. If the was the case in Amadeus then it would be out of place. However the Godfather makes it flow very well and draws your attention onto what the camera wants you to look at. A lot of the shots are taken from stomach up or chest up. That way you can tell their body language and you could tell exactly what they're thinking or feeling. The camera usually was very steady on an individual but most of the movement is when an object or individual that was of importance was moving. I thought what made this film successful was the suspense that you get to fill throughout the film. Also the story line and the complexity of it was what made it all tired to make a great film. Some of the meaning behind this film is the Godfather cannot cope with problems internally. However there was another goal, Michael's external goal was to stay out of the family and the family business. The main theme Will be Michael's experience with the family and with the family business. Like I said this is now one my favorite movies and I was very impressed.

Amadeus

To start off this has to be one of my favorite films. It captures of of the character of Mozart very well and I was able to see the challenges he was facing in life. I believe the costumes were spot on and every little detail was worked out. Everything from masks Down to every single wig. This film made me feel as if I was in the era of Mozart.
The color that was used in this film was a mix of soft dark colors and at times very very dark Colors. You can usually understand the emotions that are trying to be expressed just by looking at the color of the scene. When Mozart would remember memories of his father it was always a very dark memory with very little or no color.
I believe make up played a very important role just as the costume design did. It gave me a sense of what people look like and dressed like in that time.
Most of this film we're shots taken from Mozart's home or in the opera house. Those two buildings was where his music came from. We were able to see how we create his music and what his inspiration was.
I feel the production design team did a phenomenal job because I did not notice anything that stood out. Everything that was on set fit very comfortably I was not out of place. I was able to be taken away in the story and I would imagine myself I was there.
I feel the theme of this film is the important role music. Music is an easy task to create or imagine. With this film I was able to to understand and respect the musical process.
The meaning I got the film was hope. Mozart always hope for that next piece of work. It taught me that if I wanted something really bad I'm us work hard at it to obtain Michael. Nothing is given to anybody for doing nothing. If you want to go get it.

The rear window review

The audience is put in the role of viewers who view a protagonist who is almost obsessively preoccupied with looking at others. It Is very creative how they use the camera to tell the story. Is able to look at new perspectives that you may not notice. The camera was able to do lots close-ups on the character to show how they're feeling. You're able to see although facial features that they make. I loved it when Lisa's first appeared in the film before we can see her, we see her shadow “like a vampire”. The use of camera work was able to capture that moment perfectly. I feel some of the meaning from this movie is how some people per tray women. There were a lot of gestures that were used to imply meaning in this film that was able to be understood without speaking. A lot of the tension came from no talking and the slow camera movement at times. 

Butch Cassidy and the Sun Dance Kid

1.) It was a hit with westerns and it gave the sense of cheering for the "bad guy"
2.) The meaning was you take what you want
3.) The montage that I loved when they went to bolivia they robbed a ton of banks but it looks like they did it in seconds and made it easy.
4.) Writing- I was cool to see how people cheered for the bad guy, it was also fresh. Music- it used the modern music of the time it was filmed but it fit the story very well.
5.) anti villain would be Butch and Sundance and we started cheering for them cause they had a smooth personality and a brotherly friendship.
6.) I loved it cause it mades it look fun and sweet.
7.) a comedy and western. they had funny jokes back and forth and it was taken place in an older time.
8.) I think it would do great because it is fresh and funny. The acting is great.
9.) I was impressed on the story line. I haven't seen a movie like it and its cool to see the other end of the law.
