Batman Begins

Film Analysis

Opening image – music was very bold and intense which captured my attention, begin as a flashback when he was a boy, Bruce had a dramatic experience with bats and young age.

Theme - what's the goal to have Batman become a legend and not just a normal man. His goal was to put fear into the people who prey on the fearful.

Set up - Bruce watches parents died had a very young age, this changed his life and affected him greatly.

Catalyst - Bruce's parents were shot

Debate - Batman had to realize the limits he would go and the boundaries he cannot overstep.

Breaking into two - at this point Bruce decides to fight crime but refuses to kill

B story - the training time that taught him to fight and to overcome his fears.

Fun and games- this is when we get to see Bruce getting all of his weapons and devices and we even get to see his new vehicle the tumbler.

Midpoint- Marconi was taken down by Batman

Bad guys close in - the secret weapon was stolen off the ship and was in the hands of the bad guys.

All is lost - Batman loses a flight to his trainer/ his friends now hate him/ his mansion was burned to the ground.

Dark night of the soul - Bruce fails but he was able to pick himself up again and start new

Breaks into three - this was when a plan was created to save The day.

Finale - the final fight to conclude the movie.

Final image - the movie ended with Bruce boarding up the well representing he overcame his fear. Also has plans to build the new house but improve the legacy of Batman.

Deus ex Machina - this was the time when Gordon saved the day to protect Gotham, and to save Batman. Without him or this act the movie would be completely different.
